Stop by and check out our full inventory of new and pre-owned boats. Our sales department provides brokerage services and our Mercury Certified service center will meet all your maintenance needs. We offer full storage for your convenience if you decide to leave paradise for a short period of time, or just need a place to keep your boat year-round. Land storage is a lot more affordable than a rack-o-minimum with less than 2 miles to travel to either boat ramp in the area. Our completely fenced-in area is well-lit and secure.

Our history

1983-1988

Coastal Marine Center's founder, Todd Garthwait, established a strong foundation in marine service and customer relations working at other local marinas.

1988

Todd establishes Coastal Marine Center Inc as a full-service, Mercury-Certified Dealer, offering new and pre-owned boat sales as well as a brokerage service.

1988- 2024

Surviving the test of time, Coastal Marine has served its customers at the same location for the past 37 years. Shortly after its establishment, Mercury recognized Coastal Marine Center as a "Premier" Dealer, assuring you that we have all the specialty tooling it takes to get the job done right the first time and keep you on the water.

Service Department

Todd Garthwait

Owner and Service Manager

Todd has been here for you and your family for over 37 years. Todd has raced on the APBA circuit and has tremendous knowledge and background in all aspects of boating. Todd has been a boater since his childhood and has worked in the marine industry all of his adult life. He has been involved in fishing tournaments of all kinds and has done a lot of in country and out of country diving including wreck diving. When it comes time to service your boat, his knowledge and experience save you time and money.

Rick

Mercury Certified Marine Mechanic

Rick has over 37 years of marine technical service experience in various engine backgrounds. Rick is certified in many different areas of the industry from wiring to rebuilding complete engines. Rick participates in continuing education courses to keep his Mercury Outboard, Mercruiser Sterndrive, and other certifications up to date and to keep up with the marine industry’s latest technology.

Larry Duhaime

Fiberglass and Gelcoat Specialist

Larry has over 40 years of experience in the boating world. He spent 25 years in Guilford, CT where he gained experience with wooden boats, and 14 years in Hancock, Maine building custom boats. He and his wife moved to Florida to enjoy the warm weather. He is a master of gelcoat and fiberglass repairs, and he has brought his experience to Coastal Marine Center.

Lynn

Office Manager

Lynn is the office manager here at Coastal Marine. She handles all aspects of the day to day operations of the business including billing, title work, accounting and payroll. Come in and say “hello” or give her a call with any of your questions. Her 37 years of experience in the marine industry can help save you and your family a lot of confusion and aggravation.

Kim Roberts

Listing Agent

Kim Roberts moved to Longboat Key, Florida in 2010 to enjoy a sunny life. She has experience boating in Arkansas and Oklahoma, and working as a business woman in Arkansas where she headed various organizations. Bringing her experience to Coastal Marine Center, she has works with customers to help take the worries out of private boat sales.
